Retinal Photography
In cases where part of the human eye may not be working correctly, it can be invaluable to capture an image of either the inside or outside of the eye. This can assist in both diagnosis and monitoring of certain borderline conditions.
With the latest, high pixelage digital cameras, we can capture images that are very difficult to obtain by simply looking into the eye through a hand-held torch. These images also have the benefit of being kept indefinitely for future reference.
Photography can be of benefit to all patients but is especially useful in conditions such as diabetes and glaucoma.
