Field Screenings to Aid in Diagnosis of Brain Problems & Driving Assessments

Field screenings are essentially a way for an optometrist to check a patient’s visual field for blind spots.

This can aid in the early diagnosis of several eye conditions, most notably glaucoma and numerous problems with the human brain.

The ability to drive safely can also be assessed using a ‘field screener’, and is often used after a problem has occurred within an eye to discover if someone is still legal to drive or not.
